Sharkstooth Scrim Lighting Techniques
We are often asked: How do I create a reveal effect, mist effect, or fantasy effect? Here are some tips on how to create these effects:
To make objects appear invisible behind the scrim, light from above and in front (downstage) of the scrim only. This will cause the scrim to appear solid to your audience.
To make objects appear behind the screen, light the object/person from above and behind (upstage of the scrim) using instruments placed behind the scrim only. The scrim will now appear transparent to your audience.
